CONCLUSION
An addition of small quantities of hydrogen and
oxygen to a diesel engine operation was found
experimentally to enhance combustion process and
reduce exhaust emissions for the experiment
considered. In comparison to the baseline diesel
operation, the reduction, especially, on PM and
NOx emissions are attractive considering the
simplicity and low cost of Hydrogen Generating
System used. The maximum reductions of PM, CO
and NOx emissions are up to 60 %, 30 % and 19 %
respectively in comparison to the corresponding
baseline diesel operation for the experiment
considered.
