Porsche's latest generation of the 911, the 991, has just recently made its way onto the scene, and, as our 2012 Best Car To Buy winner, it's excellent. But that's "just" the base Carrera and Carrera S so far--the really hot versions, including the Turbo and GT3, are yet to come. These are the first spy photos of the upcoming 991-based GT3.

Due late in 2012 for sale in early 2013, the next GT3 is expected to follow a familiar formula to the current model, though the specifics remain unclear. Weight savings should be even more impressive than the roughly 80 pounds saved on the standard Carrera compared to the 997 model, with lightweight materials, option deletes, and less equipment overall.

Performance should also be pushed higher thanks to improved efficiencies inside the 3.8-liter flat six that's likely to power it. The current GT3 RS turns out 450 horsepower and weighs in right around 3,000 pounds; we expect the next GT3 to come close to those same marks, with the 2013 GT3 RS moving even farther up the supercar ladder.

Details that can be seen in the photos show the new front bumper, larger air intakes, a front lip spoiler, dual central exhaust pipes, and what appears to be a larger-than-current rear wing--though some of the photos appear to show a GT3 sans wing.

Whatever the precise specs on the next GT3 end up being, given our experience with the 2012 Carrera, we expect the more focused, stripped-down version to impress with plenty of RennSport

No no..

quella senza spoiler ha la carrozzeria di una normale carrera S ma con lo scarico centrale.. l'altra invece è già ''più definitiva'' con l'alettone! (in pratica come quando giravano i muli del TTRS con carrozzeria semi S semi RS..)

incredibile come una persona che lavora nell'ambito automobilistico lì a stoccarda segnali la presenza di quella senza alettone già da mesi e solo ieri l'abbiano avvistata/fotografata!!!

Pare proprio di sì! Sicuro è che le stiano provando con il pdk! (il tizio pare molto attendibile..lavora nei centri sviluppo dei sistema di sicurezza montati sulle auto lì vicino stoccarda, quindi ne vede tantissimi di proto e muletti)

Comunque sì, targata italiana sarebbe un suicidio.. o si hanno da buttare o è meglio valutare altre vie!!!
